At POC Therapy CIC we believe that every individual in the world would benefit from therapy as most humans would like to improve their lives for the better in some kind of way. With technology moving so fast we are spending less quality time with one another as a society and this can cause high levels anxiety and stress as we find ourselves becoming stuck and find it hard to deal or understand how to solve life issues that we are presented with. POC Therapy CIC is passionate about helping people become unstuck and work towards reaching their full potential no matter how big or small. We are here to support and help you work through your issues.

I have a passion and an interest for people and I have always wanted to make a positive impact on individual’s lives, now with my skills, experience and knowledge I am happy to say ‘Power of change’ has an 80% recovery rate. I integrate my way of working, to facilitate clients to leave our therapy sessions with a greater sense of achievement, improving their mental well-being in order to live a healthier life style.

I’m authentic in my approach to my work. I take my duty very serious , reliable, communicative, non-judgmental, empathetic and honest with my clients. Being well experienced in working with individuals on a one to one basis or as a group setting enables me to confidently support clients to reach solutions to achieve goals and face challenges. Equipped with excellent organisational skills and a close attention to detail to ensure that initiatives that I lead or are a part of run smoothly. 

I have worked in the mental health field for almost 15 years now; as an integrative Counsellor/ Psychotherapist and Psychological Well-Being Practitioner. I launched a Think Family contact for a private company, working alongside, Forward Thinking Birmingham, Living Well Consortium. I also have experience working in a variety of fields, such as; mental health project worker, young person’s support worker, mental health tenancy support worker, mental health and drugs /alcohol scheme leader, floating support worker in the community working with families and young as well as supporting in a range of initiatives for some of the most vulnerable in society.

The individuals that I have worked with come from a variety of diverse cultures, ethnicities, ages and religions with a variety of presenting problems. Some clients may have presented with complex psychiatric histories or dual mental health issues for example: drug and alcohol and various mental health conditions, such as, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, eating disorder, personality disorder, psychosis, personality disorder traits, depression, anxiety and stress.

Approach

We use a blend of therapeutic approaches in our work with clients, with particular emphasis on relational and compassion based ways of working. Therapy can be the key towards finding greater satisfaction with life, relationship and ultimately yourself.

We provide a safe, non-judgemental and private environment to think about the issues that are concerning you and this is the time for you to be heard.

A fully registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), adhering to their code of ethics and code of practice.
